Duties: Reports to the Senior Systems Administrator. Develops and designs web pages and sites that support instructional technology functions of the college. Troubleshoots websites and updates website content, links and templates. Responsible for providing a high level of web and streaming media server availability, reliability, and dependability. Installs, maintains, tunes and performs problem determination and resolution of system software and hardware related to critical College-wide applications and systems. Ensures security, reliability, and capacity of servers. Performs standard system administration activities including preventative maintenance. Installs and maintains College-wide systems, and troubleshoots to resolve system related problems. Coordinates with relevant System Administrators regarding user support and problem resolution. Assists with installing and maintaining web and streaming media servers, and troubleshoots to resolve system related problems. Coordinates with relevant System Administrators regarding user support and problem resolution. Monitors designated systems and takes corrective action to prevent or minimize system down time. Assists with developing policies, procedures, programs, scripts, or web pages as required. Troubleshoots problems, conducts technology research, and coordinates with vendors as required. May train personnel on new systems software and hardware changes. Collaborates on special projects. May track and allocate software licenses. Keeps current with the latest technology; regularly attends technical training in order to maintain technical expertise. Other related duties may be assigned.
Required: Two years of experience related to web design and development. Knowledge of Information Technology practices, standards, and protocol. Knowledge of web page development, streaming server operation, and systems administration. Troubleshooting techniques used to resolve web and streaming media related problems. Skill in developing and maintaining web pages and sites using templates, style sheets, ASP, etc. Skill in maintaining an established work schedule and providing on-call assistance including some nights and weekends. Effectively using interpersonal and communications skills, including tact and diplomacy. Effectively using organizational and planning skills, with attention to detail and follow through. Ensuring system availability, dependability, and reliability. Skill in UNIX and Windows systems administration in an enterprise environment. Skill in troubleshooting techniques used to resolve system related problems. Maintaining confidentiality of work related information and materials. Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships. Demonstrate proficiency using standard office software applications as well as query and control languages, programming, system administration, database administration, and providing technical support. Demonstrate proficiency using Dreamweaver to develop web pages, templates and sites. Required knowledge of Windows 2003 systems administrations.
