Our PR department, of which we are a part, is implementing a work request form to help in job tracking. We have also been asked to begin using job request forms and are curious as to whether anyone else out there is using them. If so, have they helped or just created another administrative task? Is the completed work usually the same as what was requested? What types of questions to you initially ask? We'd appreciate any input. Thanks!

I am in an IT unit, and any time we need something designed or written or edited, we usually open a job with the marketing unit.

Internally, we accept edits and updates by e-mail, insert them into a job-tracking system, and otherwise generally don't require any other documentation.

We are not a charge-back institution for anything but tangible products. So human labor is free for departments. Paper pamphlets are charged back. Web design/editing/writing is "free."
