Hi all,

I'm wondering if anyone knows of anymore photo sharing sites that allow you to make more then three sets without having to pay a fee.

We are currently using Flick'r and with how our CMS is set up, you upload a set onto CMS to go onto the web site. However, I just recently found out Flick'r only allows three sets per account.

Anyone know of others that offer something like this but possibly at no cost?

Thanks!

$25 a year for unlimited uploads and storage, unlimited collections, and video isn't too bad a deal.

Besides, you might want to consider a group pool in order to vet images submitted from multiple accounts.
I second the suggestion for Picasa. I used it on a freelance job, http://www.gardensia.com and they really liked it. It's free, and allows multiple sets, or easier just tag what you want and use the API to call 'sets' with those tags. I have used both the Flickr API and the various Google APIs and I found the latter to be easier to work with.
Yes, I agree that Picasa something to consider alongside Flickr. Both have large companies
behind them, though I think we know which company is doing better at the moment.
I have done a bit more with Picasa, including a collection for Arboretum Cohousing
which 2 of us co-managed. I would not suggest that Picasa is better, but I would say
it's in the same class as Flickr. Another one to consider is Photoshop Express, which has
another large company behind it. This is also one my examples of what you can do
with web client technology (yes, it's Flash) and how pretty much everything on the desktop
could now be on the web.

As we watch the economy shakeout, it would not surprise me to see this whole photo hosting
market shake out too. Right now, I'll put my money on Google and Adobe.
I hope folks with large hosted photo archives have an exit strategy...
This article might help you out.
I'll chime in on support of Picasa. I use it for this site: http://smilesforkids.missouri.edu/patient_stories/

It's not the end all be all solution, but when your institution won't let you run a database, you gotta do what you gotta do.

It's running off of this script: http://www.multiprof.nl/ to embed it in the site.

Cheers!
I have heard of some colleges using flickr to host their viewbooks, so people can download high res versions of each page of the viewbook.
