Anyone using Confluence and/or Jira at their institution?

We are in early stages of using Confluence as a wiki and collaborative project space, maybe evolving into a complete intranet solution as we wean ourselves (and untangle) off MS Sharepoint

Jira could be a small solution for a web-team project/workflow manager, or go deeper into other areas replacing helpdesk environments and the like..

Early indications and play with the product(s) is very positive, but would be keen for any similar experiences or how Wiki Vs Intranet has been dealt with in your part of the world.

Cheers

Are you paying for JIRA, or did they give you a free license as an edu?

We have a dirt cheap ($10) small licence install at the moment, as far as I am aware .edu has to pay a 50% discount rate on standard pricing. Open source projects, charities etc. get a free ride but not HE.

Oh oh... it would be very helpful to know what % of mobile phones are Web accessible.. with a data plan. Based on that information, marketing to/with the device would change considerably.
