Hi All -

Have any of you looked at or are using CampusEAI, myCampus, for your student portal?  If so, would you mind discussing it?  Some specifics on our institution:

ERP - Homegrown

LMS - D2L

Email - Exchange

Active Directory

Thanks!

Grant,

They allow self hosting for institutions outside of the United States. However, for all U.S. institutions we were told that they must host it. From what we've been told, they made this exception because some institutions could not store student data in a different country.

Paul
CEAI made it clear to us (in New York) that we had the option of onsite or offsite. If onsite there were additional fees associated with it, thus making it "cheaper" to allow them to host the product.

Hmph, in that case, perhaps I should look into it again. Odd that they make it cheaper for them to host it though. Again, this was something that our AM told us when switched to the myCampus solution from Oracle Portal (Which was self hosted). So their policy did change and that could be a very good thing for us.

Thanks Andy and Grant for setting it straight.

Of those of you who use myCampus, have any of you used the WCMS component?
Hi Perry,

We currently use the WCMS at http://csum.edu and will be expanding its use next month. Please feel free to contact me for any questions.
Hello,

We are currently in the process of developing our site on the WCMS. We are down to the migration of content to the new system. Feel free to contact me for more information.

Hello,

Our campus is in the final stages of roll out of the CampusEAI, myCampus portal. My question is for any of you who have developed or are developing your web site with the WCMS.

My job is the public web presence. I am in the early planning stage for architecting, design, migration and launch. We are a 12,000 student institution with a 10,000+ page static website currently managed with DreamWeaver. I an looking for others who may be able to help by sharing any WCMS planning / process documentation.  If we can leverage your experience I will not have to recreate our process from scratch.

Thanks in advance. Please feel free to friend me here if you would like to discuss offline or tweet @JayMassey

Thanks,

Jay

Use lots of communities! Their WCMS starts to falter when your community approaches 50 or so pages in a community. (Assuming Staging and workflow are turned on.)

Basically, a community will temporarily crash during publish when ever you update a single page. For small communities it may only be a second or two, but a 500 page community will cause a 10-15 minute outage.

Paul

Paul, thank you very much for that information.  Is anyone from CampusEAI in this forum?

Paul,

What version are you using (6 or 7) and are you using a load-balanced pair of servers?

Jay

Office Reservation software

I've been tasked with finding a software tool that helps manage the onboarding and exit process of new and departing faculty. Ultimately i would like this software to management faculty office interms of when resources can be removed from a particular office and when a new faculty member can be moved in with the necessary resources. This tool should have notifications and alerts so there are no conflicts with someone being removed from a office and someone being placed in a office. Does anyone…See More
