Position Information
Job Title: Web Communications Developer
Department: Providence-Web Communications
Campus: Providence, RI
Summary: Creates and develops dynamic data-driven websites to collect and display information and enhance visitor website experience
Essential Job Functions:
- Creates and develops dynamic data-driven websites and custom web templates and functionality
- Performs hands-on template and system modifications, testing and quality control with a strong understanding of web usability and production tools
- Processes, maintains and troubleshoots technical tasks
- Serves as the liaison with external technical resources for troubleshooting, development and testing of website functionality, performance and administrative tasks
- Performs other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum of a bachelor's degree
- Experience in web development, or in other related work
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in web architecture, computer science or a related field
- Three years or more of experience in web development
- Experience using ASP.NET with C# or JAVA and JQuery
- Working knowledge of SQL and databases
- Understanding of content management and development
- Experience with CMS - Fluent on Mac and PC platforms
Additional Requirements:
- Working knowledge of ASP.NET, HTML, JavaScript, CSS and XML
- Working knowledge of cross-browser development techniques and browser degradation
- Knowledge of Internet, related trends and technical languages
- Must be able to provide portfolio of samples demonstrating web development work (e.g., websites, web applications)
