We are looking to get into Email Marketing and I've been assigned the task of finding a good program. I hear a lot about Constant Contact, does anyone use CC?

If so, what do you think about their service?

Next year, we are planning to send 5-6 email blasts that consists of 300k-500k people. So, we need a great provider that can handle the load.

I would never use constant contact - too much branding from them on your messages. Check out Fire Engine Red (www.fire-engine-red.com). I've used them for years and absolutely love them, plus they specifically serve higher ed audiences.

Thanks for the info Karlyn! I like the fact that they are in Philadelphia (we're in Delaware) and that they are small.

I will definitely check them out and schedule a demo.

I need at least 2 more recommendations, anyone have any other suggestions?

We send all of ours in house using "Email Marketer" from interspire.

We're shopping for an e-mail provider, too, and so far Bronto is the leader. We do need to schedule a Fire Engine Red demo, though.

Also, Karlyn didn't mention it, but she wrote a good set of guidelines for selecting an email service provider last year. We found that really useful.

I also recommend people take a look at Karlyn's guidelines (and also recommend taking a look at Fire Engine Red

We use campaign monitor and I love them.

I can echo the love for Campaign Monitor. I don't have much experience with other vendors, but CM is great. Very easy to use interface so we can offload campaign creation to less technical users. It's pay per e-mail, so your volume will determine whether that or pay per month is a better option.

Has anyone used Mailchimp?

I use Mailchimp for my business and have been really impressed with them so far

We've been using Emma (myemma.com) for the last two months and love them. Granted, we are using it on a smaller scale than you are looking for. We send around 30-50k a month in 3 - 5 blasts.

We use MailChimp for a newsletter we send out and I have found it to be excellent. I highly recommend them. www.mailchimp.com
