Does anyone have experience of large University sites with multiple sub-sites that require 'golden copy' as part of the content management?
[fyi: I have heard a rumour that a large UK Government institution is dropping Drupal as it doesn't handle golden copy well! Maybe the developers at http://www.asu.edu/ , if they are members, could tell me if their Drupal installation works well for them?]
TIA for any feedback.
We use 3 commercial CMS products I cant disclose but one is wordpress and others are expensive mid6fig ventures
Intranet protected Private Shared Files is how we share approved master deck copy
Are you looking for a widget when a content change is made in master deck then all instances auto-update ? ...
you can always scrape from a master file in PHP...
wordpress sorta ... http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/multipost-mu/
hmm looks like I may have to program one .. :D
What I can speak on is there is an assett manager in OmniUpdate
that should work for what you are looking into to accomplish ...
Thanks JAaronAnderson for the feedback
I am certainly a fan of wordpress, and happily develop for it and use it as a secondary CMS for smaller sites, but for the main sites its not going to cut it.
