Last Call: Northeast Regional Conference Proposals - NERCOMP.org

Propose a NERCOMP Workshop for the 2013-14 Season

We offer 1-day workshops all year round for all campus technology related fields and topics.

NERCOMP includes members schools from MA, CT, ME, NH, VT, RI, NY, PA, MD, NJ. Check the members page at nercomp.org to see if your school is a member!

Here are the top reasons YOU should submit a proposal now:

1. Share your expertise
Take the time to share your knowledge and expertise with the NERCOMP community
2. Arm yourself with knowledge
Learn more about a topic of interest by preparing for your workshop
3. Build a network
Meet and network with other NERCOMP members who are interested and/or have knowledge in your topic
4. Add to your income
Earn a small honorarium for sharing your time and expertise by leading a session
5. Leverage your NERCOMP membership
As a workshop leader you get the benefits of networking with other NERCOMP members, have an opportunity to enhance your presentation/teaching skills and also to learn from participants who attend your session. You may even team up with other NERCOMP schools to plan the content for your session – making it all the more rich and engaging!

DEADLINE MAY 3 2013

All you have to do is:

  1. Pick the topic
  2. Submit a proposal by going to the NERCOMP website, log in and link to the SIGMaster Zone (on the Member Navigation bar.)
  3. Complete the Submit a Proposal form (include your preferred date) by Friday, May 3
  4. *optional: Register to attend the SIG Planning Day on Tuesday, May 7 at the College of the Holy Cross in Worcester. [This meeting is optional but encouraged so you advocate for your proposal as well as share more details if questions arise.]

"Yep, I got the same messages. Some of our sites use SSL and we've been talking about migrating all the rest our sites for a while now. I suspect we will be doing it rather than just talking about it sooner rather than later now. :\"

Should we migrate to https?

I recently got a notice from Google that in October 2017 Chrome V62 with show the warning "NOT SECURE" on all our web pages we have a input field for search. Since on most of our pages there is nothing that would require secure information I've never felt the need for HTTPS. Our class registration pages are secure but not the general information pages. The warning is going to scare people though. Are others upgrading their websites?See More
