University Web Developers

Anyone have good examples of schools doing something different and interesting with how they list their majors offered? I am thinking more on the marketing side, not so much about course catalogs. So many schools (my school is guilty of this too) simply show a super long list of majors in alphabetical order. Many schools do this without any second thought to the emotional impact of the excitement and joy of choosing your major.

I know many schools may have their reasons for how it is, but there has to be something more that can be done than database output formatted in a <ul>

Examples I have found:

Macalester College has this page, which while it isn't strictly about choosing a major, it is related on some level. http://www.macalester.edu/news/macalesternow/2012february/sciences/

Hmm, I will be honest I'm not a fan of using the actual official programs listing as a marketing platform. 

That being said we do have this which helps people find interesting majors and people

While Xavier also offers the traditional listing of majors and programs, we also offer a humorous way of navigating to various program offerings. It helps group related program together, knowing that prospective students often like to see options in a particular subject area (science: biology, nursing, occupational therapy).

Wow, those are fantastic! It's amazing how often we treat our "products", our core offering, as a simple bulleted list. Both of these really provide some inspiration.
