University Web Developers

I am new to academic web dev. I do however have over a 15 years in web design, development, internet marketing & strategy.  I just missed the STAMATS conference in Vegas and need to be on the lookout for the next big educational conference for University Web Developers.

What conferences are you guys signing up for between now and June 30, 2011?

Thanks for the info!
Here are a few that I would love to go to that aren't necessarily educational conferences, but great nonetheless.

The Usability Week 2010 Conference

An Event Apart

Thanks Mike, I will add them to my list.

Last year I attended the EDU Web Conference. Like minded people. Industry related discussions, speakers and vendors.  I plan to attend this year as well. http://www.eduwebconference.com/

Jeff,

Very good suggestion.  Thank  you very much.

Jay

Without question, HighEdWeb. Tons of content, plenty of variation, the best group of people you can meet, and a very reasonable price. As far as I'm concerned, it sets the standard for higher ed web development conferences. (they're also setting up a magazine too)

eduWeb isn't bad once, but I find it a bit to marketing heavy and bland for my tastes.

Thanks Michael,

That will be helpful to us all.

Jay

What's the word on EduComm? Is it just a trade show or is it substantive like HighEdWeb and eduWEB? I have to admit the marquee speakers sound great (David Pogue, Stephen Covey), but is it a good place to meet similar higher ed new media folk?

Thanks!

I attended HighEdWeb last year for the first time and was kicking myself for missing it in years past. Definite must, IMHO.

Doesn't hurt that it's in my home town next year...

All,

If you could pick only one conference for the year (no matter what town it was in), which one would you go to?

Jay

SXSW Interactive (http://sxsw.com/interactive) hands down. The caliber of smart and innovative people attending this conference is astounding. Trends and new ideas are born here. For example, Twitter launched at SXSW and when I went a few years back so many people were using it at SXSW, but it still hadn't caught on with the mainstream audience.  But you could see the potential and importance that it would become today and how people were leveraging it at SXSW at that time.  It's just one example.

When you leave you will be so inspired.
