I wanted to let everyone know about a pretty cool little project I've been working on this week: crowd-funded scholarships!

In October, the Higher Education Web Professionals Association is meeting in Milwaukee for their annual conference. A little under 600 or so higher education content strategists, programmers, social media coordinators, marketers, designers, and web managers will meet to discuss their work for the year, hear from the top people in the field, and collaborate and connect. It's a great conference and a fantastic community and resource to be involved in.
The scholarship is designed to help bring three new attendees to the conference. If fully funded, the scholarship will cover the conference cost ($600) for three people. If over funded, we'll split that overage to try and defray some of the travel costs. We'll select attendees from application submitted below. All we ask from the winners is that they'll write down their experiences and take aways from the conference to be shared in a blog post (location to be determined) after the conference is done. Applications can be submitted here:

The scholarships are already about 70% funded. A number of companies and higher education blogs, including mStoner, Enivornments for Humans, .eduguru, and Meet Content are donating greatly reduced admissions to their own on-line conferences, advertising on their sites, consulting services and more. If you know any one who might be interested in those goods and services or would like to participate please let them know and send them this link:

Please let me know if you have any questions!
