I am happy to announce that the uwebd social network will live on thanks to our friends at OmniUpdate. OmniUpdate is a major supporter of collaboration and knowledge sharing within the higher ed community and is pleased to continue their sponsorship of the uwebd site.  And for a limited time you can still get a free uwebd mug by clicking on the graphic on the home page.

Moving forward, I will be making some changes to the site. If there are new features you would like to see, old features we should remove, or sites and social media channels we should syndicate, please let me know by responding in the comments below.

Thanks again to OmniUpdate for their sponsorship.

Great news!

Sweet news Mark. BTW, I love my mug and use it daily coffee.

That's great news. Thanks for all you work to keep this wonderful tool available to the community.

Thank you. I already have a mug and it is well used.

Thank you OmniUpdate.

Dear person reading this,

No more mugs.  How do I drink my delicious coffee now?

Sleepy webdev,

JG

Wonderful! Thanks OmniUpdate!

Yeah! I didn't know about the mug. I gotta go get one. I am happy to hear about OmniUpdate valuing this since we signed up a few months ago. I am still developing some templates but I can't wait to use the system.

I see that this site is associated with a mailing list. I don't see a place to sign up for that?

Mark,

Just a suggestion regarding a sustainable future for UWEBD (software platform). When I was at OmniUpdate we migrated from Ning to SocialEngine. SE has a Ning 2 import tool: http://get.socialengine.com/ning/ The process was pretty smooth for us, and all the Users, Content, Forums, Groups, Blogs, etc. all came across fine.

We were able to do complete test migrations and test all the functionality before switching to be sure nothing was lost. While they have a cloud version of SE, the Ning migration tool is designed for the PHP version of SE that you would have to get hosted somewhere (OU maybe?). http://support.socialengine.com/php/customer/portal/articles/205368...

Updating our Privacy Policy

Hello,We are looking to update our privacy policy on our website to better reflect the activities of our marketing folks and their partners. This would include things like retargeting and the potential personalization of our CRM. I was wondering if other universities have updated their privacy policies recently and could share how they crafted it? I'd like to have some sort of template before meeting with our lawyer to get their sign off. Thanks!See More
