Anyone know of any solutions to aggregate videos from a variety of youtube and vimeo sources?  We've tried Miro Community but are looking for something similar.

Hi Jason, What were the issues or missing features that are leading you away from choosing Miro as a solution?

Just some remarks from my supervisor about some back-end problems and the cost associated with re-skinning it to match our visual branding.

OK – this is a real wildcard idea, and it may not fit your needs at all – but if your goal is primarily presentational, you control the YouTube and Vimeo accounts in question, and don't need capability for student or faculty to upload directly to the system, you might consider using a skin-able portfolio system like http://dunked.com/ to present the curated video content.

Hi Jason -- Did you ever find a solution to this video aggro problem? if so, please post and let us know.  Cheers, Dan

Haven't had a chance to dig into dunked yet.  Waiting till things die down after Commencement.  Looks promising from the marketing materials but requires a real account to fully understand it.  Thanks for the tip.

We're sticking with miro for now.  It allows us to integrate video from a variety of other hosted solutions rather than requires our office to take on video upload management for the campus and has a widget for feeds into our webpages

Hi,

You may be able to use Kaltura MediaSpace with the feature of external references.  We will be planning to do this for providing a single portal for internal and external video.

Hi Mark -- I'm interested in getting your perspective on the current state of Kaltura. I worked with integrating it with a Drupal site a few years ago, and felt that the 'community edition' was fairly buggy and unsupported at that time, with the sponsoring company focused mainly on the commercial version. Of course that can all change... how are you finding it now?

We have opted for the SaaS solution as we don't want any of the configuration or support headaches.  So far the solution has been solid for our needs and really is the most flexible platform we could find.  The momentum in bringing up the level of quality and support is good.  I also know that the LMS (and other) integration architecture is getting an overhaul for stability and time-to-market reasons.  This might be a situation where "you get what you pay for".

We'll soon be redesigning our site and will probably be switching to Drupal. I'll be following this thread as we are looking for a video aggregator as well.

Kaltura has solid Drupal integration.

Is anyone using Concrete5 as their CMS?

Hi,We're currently evaluating two content management systems - Drupal and Concrete5. We're very familiar with Drupal and also like the appeal of Concrete5, but know that Concrete5 isn't widely used. Is anyone here using Concrete5? I'd greatly appreciate any insight that can be shared. Thanks so much!Sarah GagneThe Dartmouth Institute for Health Policy & Clinical PracticeSee More
