I'm wondering if anyone has any thoughts on the best approach to managing a Web team in a university. The two options we're faced with at the moment:
1) Having a central Web team with requests, projects, etc. from all academic and administrative areas coming to one central e-mail alias and phone number for the first-available team member to handle.
2) Having a distributed Web model, with each team member reporting part-time to ITS and then directly to an academic unit for the other half-time part of the position. One area manages site content whereas the other handles technical direction and projects.
