University Web Developers
What web analytics are you using?
I'm curious what other U's use to track web traffic. I am currently using Google Analytics for our department website but I understand that I might need to purchase something so that the information is hosted on a private server (unlike GA). I have looked at Urchin but am wondering what else is out there and reasonably priced.
Also, I need to be able to separate internal traffic (our staff members) from external traffic (everyone else) so if you are using a particular software, can you also let me know if you are able to do this successfully (and hopefully easily)?

We're using Google Analytics, and generally, just use it for rough reports. We could probably stand to divide traffic, but don't. Not many folks access it other than myself and a few in Admissions, plus occasional reports generated for upper admins.

We use Woopra and GA.
Woopra provides useful real-time data. GA provides better drill-downs, conversion data and a longer archival period.

We are using WebTrends Analytics software. We are able to separate internal from external traffic by applying an IP address filter. It has a lot of customization available and excellent technical support. Please feel free to give me a call or DM if you have any questions.
