Hi, We're about to launch a new website. It's a 'monolithic' redesign. We're also going to use Cascade Server for the first time. Any and all tips or insights in how to best prepare for the launch would be much appreciated.

We're using 5.1 now, and are about ready to upgrade to 5.2.
Publishing speed is significantly improved from the 4.x series, as well as a lot of under-the-hood and UI improvements (for example, from 5.1 on the TinyMCE editing system is more customizable from an admin standpoint).

- We've been using Cascade for almost 1.5 years now. We're quite happy with the product and Hannon Hill's technical support. We're ecstatic about the Cascade community which is very active and which has its own member-run LISTSERV.

Ah, well that makes a pretty big difference. Then I'd say probably about a 15% increase in salary or $7500, whichever is more, unless they're making a pretty big jump up the ladder for it.
We recently decided on Drupal and purchased support from Acquia Drupal. We've been pretty happy with them so far. Great response times and access to free webinars that have been pretty helpful.
There's no real "professional organization" per se yet. The HighEdWeb group had been working on something like that though, but I'm not sure where they are at in that process.
As for conferences, I'd generally recommend HighEdWeb and EDUWeb.
