Has anyone tried out Drupal 6 yet? Anyone considering (or already completed) an upgrade?

It would be great to hear any first hand experience from folks in this community.

Drupal 6 is pretty slick. I played around with it on my development machine and it made me really want to start upgrading a couple of my other sites. Sad part is, most of the modules I use and some of the base themes I've customized aren't supported yet.

Is anyone using 6 now that Views and CCK at least have release candidates out for 6?

I'm migrating our main site and I've been using 5.7 for dev but thinking of going with 6.3 since I'm only a few weeks in and I was mainly just waiting for CCK and Views before moving off 5.7.

I've built a couple quick sites with Drupal 6, but I have yet to use the Views and CCK modules for any of them. I'd say you're good to go now as long as all of your existing modules have been updated.

I've built a site with 6 using CCK and Views modules that are out and haven't run into any issues at all. Drupal 6 is really slick. I'm really excited about some of the things I'm hearing about the direction of Drupal 7.

I am building all of my projects in Drupal 6 now that CCK and Views are in a usable state. No point in pouring development time into D5 when you're just going to have to upgrade fairly soon anyway. This is especially true for projects that don't need to be launched "yesterday". If you can take some time to develop a project properly, Drupal 6 is definitely the way to go. The usability enhancements for end-users and site administrators make any D6 site much more intuitive to use, and Views 2 is a dream to work with.

I've tried it and wish we could upgrade asap because because of the ui improvements and convenience of getting more mature modules, but we're working on adding some social features to our site and not all the modules have been ported yet. Maybe in a few months.

Hi
Same here - i have it installed locally and moving to install CCK and Views -
So far, what i see, i like

It seemed to me that installing Drupe 6 was much smoother. im just hoping module development for 6 speeds up. Im thinking I want to build out a faculty publications database (they log in, they update) for our law library here - our current setup in .Net would be a minefield if i allowed all our faculty to self-update. Plus, learning curve on our CMS is a bit steeper than going thru same in Drupal. I think building out in Drupal 6 might be the way to go....

I am currently implementing a multisite instance of Drupal using Domain Access, Organic Groups, Views, CCK and a few other modules. The native multisite setup didn't quite cut it for my needs. The documentation is sparse on this methodology, so it has been trial and error. But so far so good. Drupal 6 seems pretty well architected.
