Thanks for the response, Marcel.

I forwarded it to our Web Marketing partner to see if they can perhaps adjust things on their end.

My hunch is that the JS tracking code still works even though OU removed the CDATA tags - I'm asking them to confirm whether or not it works before trying anything tricky.

Comment by Marcel Ayers on November 6, 2012 at 11:48am

Jesse,

CDATA sections in an XML document are interrupted by the transformation engine as to be containing text, therefore the on publish the CDATA element is removed and the content will remain.

If it is your intention to preserve the CDATA element through publish, you can re-write tbe CDATA markup to treat the CDATA element as text also. Alternatively, you could move the CDATA code to an include file, bypassing the transformation altogether. For more specific assitance please contact our support department at support@omniupdate.com

Best,
---Marcel Ayers

Do any other OU users have problems with OU stripping out CDATA tags when you publish tracking codes?

Site Search: Evaluating and Testing

Amherst College is considering switching the search engine we use on our website (Drupal) from Google Search Appliance (GSA) to Google Custom Search Engine (CSE). We are configured to seamlessly switch between the two search options.Does anyone have ideas, resources, or a checklist you've used for testing the site search and gauging relevancy? If not GTM for A/B testing, any recommendation on what else to use? All…See More
