Just a comment…We’re finishing up our conversion to SharePoint 2010 from 2007 and WOW what a difference! I had all but given up on SharePoint but they really made some impressive advances with 2010. If you’re still using SP 07, I highly recommend the upgrade.

Are you upgrading from SP 2007? Or is this a fresh install? I am lucky enough to have an IT department do all the programming. I build and manage the sites from templates so it's not too bad. I also subscribe to a LinkedIn SharePoint group - they often have this same conversation and it's good resource
Permalink Reply by Norma J Dowell on March 12, 2013 at 11:27am We are just beginning to use SharePoint 2010 at Iowa State. The library is incorporating it as an Intranet site and I have been building forms using InfoPath to use for gathering library-wide statistics. The learning curve is interesting to say the least. There are a LOT of ways to do the same thing.
Noting that your original post was in 2011, you have probably figured this out by now, but you pretty much have to pick a way to do things and stick with it until you can't! I have found so many ways to do a form it isn't funny; and each has a slightly different result than the next.
It would be interesting to know how things are going for you and if you are still using SharePoint.
