WordPress import / export content solution?

Hi Friends,

We're looking to import just page and post content from a WordPress site to a new WordPress site on a different server and preserve the page hierarchy. Any recommendations for a plug-in or other automated solution? It's about 300 pages.

Could you just use the built-in export/import tools? 

 

Another question: what do you NOT want to import into the new site? (Comments? anything else?)

Are you trying to just duplicate the site on a new server?  If so, your best option is to do a SQL dump of the database, and import that into the SQL database on the new server.  Your server admin will know how to do this.

An SQL dump and import might be the way to go, but a straight WordPress export/import is easier (if it meets your needs). 

 

(SQL dump alone won't bring over your attachments, for example.)
