Avoiding underutilized blogs

We get many requests to set up blogs for various departments. In our initial meeting, I explain to the requesters that they alone will be in charge of creating and maintaining content and they all promise me that they have the time and staff to maintain the site.Approximately 40% of the blogs that we create go unused or are severely underutilized, which looks awful for our institution and incenses me for the time and trouble my department went through to create the site and train the users. My…See More

Bryan replied to Michael Plyler's discussion What does Academic Freedom allow?

Jessica replied to Bryan's discussion Best practices when using GA with many users in the group Google Analytics Users
"That sounds reasonable. I think as long as they know that everything means, and you help them set up their own dashboard that would suffice. We have our entire site under one GA code and just began adding filters for more specific segments and data…"

Best practices when using GA with many users

We use GA for reporting our statistics. Recently, our authorship has become very interested in getting their statistical information for the sites they oversee.Normally, if someone wants access to the GA for their sub-site, we create a profile for them and grant them access. With as many demands as we are having for GA access, I'd like to set up a less hands-on way for our users to be able to get the stats for their site.Currently, we have quite the mishmash of site profiles and a convoluted…See More
