Application Function

Has anyone come across how to incorporate into WordPress how to have a student application? Maybe not for a campus at large (leaving it to something like PeopleSoft) but for smaller program specific applications. I thought about gravity forms but it's more the backend with application review, etc. that has me stumped.Any thoughts?See More

Employment

Please forgive me for my bland and non-descriptive discussion title but nothing better has come to mind. I am currently battling the unemployment market and one career option I see for myself is highered web work as while my traditional education has not been in computer science I have worked as a web manager for two departments at two higher ed institutions. Due to cercumstances (wife's job), I am unable to search for jobs outside of Hawaii at the moment. As such I feel that if I can't get a…See More

WordPress Plugin List

As I'm new and all to the network I'm not exactly sure how to start this but here it goes. After joining the WP group I found myself looking through all the old posts just to see what people were talking about in terms of using WP as a CMS for a higher ed site. One thing I liked reading were the posts that had listings of all sorts of good plugins, but as I read on with certain terms (like WPMU) and looking plugins up only to see they were no longer supported I realized that these lists must be…See More

Solution for deluge of daily emails?

So way back in "the day" (eight or so years ago), our employee/student email inboxes were routinely deluged with 40+ individual email messages per day due to the "campus-wide" email lists being open for anyone here to send messages to.Enough people eventually decried the situation, so we came up with an email/website "publication" that was basically akin to a "daily digest email" of what were originally individual messages. This was highly successful and took a large part of the burden off of…See More
