i tried to use ning but there are some features which is not available here and i have to look a social community site which fits in our needs..and it makes me sick...because the administrators here wants to see the alumni site..though..im planning to use joomla because there's features for alumni which they can type their course, year of graduated, their current work and location. actually, that's all that they want...:-)

How about you? sop, you are specialized in CMS? do you heard about alfresco? actually, im undergo study of this open source because my friend said its one of the best CMS and it will fit to our needs. for now, im trying to use joomla for the social community for the alumni...i hope to hear any suggestion from you..

Well for us, the two are serving two different purposes. We have RD managing our web presence and we are harnessing SP for our intranet. RD is about to release a module that will allow the two to communicate with each other on some level, but the webinar we saw was brief, so I'm unsure as to how deep that goes.

Ah, well that makes a pretty big difference. Then I'd say probably about a 15% increase in salary or $7500, whichever is more, unless they're making a pretty big jump up the ladder for it.

We recently decided on Drupal and purchased support from Acquia Drupal. We've been pretty happy with them so far. Great response times and access to free webinars that have been pretty helpful.

There's no real "professional organization" per se yet. The HighEdWeb group had been working on something like that though, but I'm not sure where they are at in that process. As for conferences, I'd generally recommend HighEdWeb and EDUWeb.
