An adjunct to UWEBD. UWEBD has been in existence for more than 10 years and is the very best email discussion list on the Internet, in any industry, on any topic.

With your work in Technology and Web Strategy, I recommend you take a look at Wiziq's virtual classroom and authorstream's power point presentation platform. Both are web based platforms, have a bunch of features and free basic service.
Here at Penn State, we have many Plone-based websites up and running, and we written a variety of products with the higher-education sector firmly in mind.
In May 2009, we will be hosting a symposium here in Central PA; Plone in Education will be one of the themes of this meeting, at which we are expecting more than 100 developers and users from around the world.
We run a IRC chat channel at #weblion; most people on there use Plone in the higher ed sector (in contrast to #plone, where people come from a whole variety of sectors).
