I wonder, what was it about my profile that lead you to believe I have authority over the choice of learning environments? Did you research my school to see who runs Academic Technologies.

Looks good but not really for me my focus.. I'm more focused with media relations. I will pass this off to a colleague who works with webCT and blackboard.

Thanks!

No offense, but ... ewww. I am an anti-fan of Powerpoint, or of any slide-based presentational software for teaching. It's for presentations, which is antithetical to how teaching works. Also, I don't do any teaching live; it's all asynch. That seems to work best for the discipline of history. I recognize it's different for other disciplines.

I'm using a version of PHPLive I've been customizing for the past few years. Although I've used the meebome widget before too. The nice thing about it is that if no one is online to answer the chat it prompts them to leave a message.

Our library staff initiated adding live chat and have had a good success with it. Now the admissions folks are interested in doing something similar. The real challenge is, of course, people managing the responses. The technology is fairly straigh...

I also have to agree with Michal here. The purpose of Facebook is one thing but I do not think it should be used for other purposes. And I back that with Chris, by saying there is a place for that and possible the homepage could be used for that p...

Unfortunately here at UT we have had to deal with this issue more than we would like to in the last three months. We had a student murdered walking home late from a party in August, a student killed in a hit and run on Friday, and another 3 studen...
