Headhunters want to join the College Linkedin group

Hello --Like many schools, SUNY-ESF has (in addition to a 'company page') a Linkedin group profiled as the "... official professional and career networking group for SUNY-ESF alumni, students and faculty." The original plan was to limit membership as described, and that continues to be the policy.I notice, however, that I get non-ESF people requesting membership: corporate HR, headhunters, same-field professionals, etc. So far, I kindly deny them membership, but give them info for job posting…See More

Paul Otteson replied to Mark Greenfield's discussion Transitioning Accepted Student Social Networks
"Mark -- First, still with Ning here, and not SocialEngine. Several parts to the "hook" answer, though I'm not yet sure that they make a compelling set: CONTENT -- ...in the broadest sense. ESF everything - feeds, branding, layout,…"

"Rachel -- Thanks for the reply. Can I ask how (if) you will handle accepteds in this network? SocialEngine tells me that subnetworks/networks can't be "merged", but what's your understanding of the isolation-to-engagement range…"

Paul Otteson replied to Mark Greenfield's discussion Transitioning Accepted Student Social Networks
"Same story at SUNY-ESF -- Ning network for accepteds rolled out 1/08 with a plan to 'retire' it, well, now actually, and then to relaunch for the next class. The network had student ambassador and admissions staff members, and it included…"

"At the time we had 2 full-time employees and a temp on the web team. We had over 150 users trained to do the migration; some departments assigned more than others. Each department was required to assign someone. As far as I know only a few had any…"

Sanmita Has New CMS Bundle: AcademicsWeb. Designed and Developed for Educational Institutions

The more I learned about Sanmita, the more I was convinced of an incredibly capable, intelligent, and fully featured web firm, with design, development, and hosting all available. Sites with great flexibility, yet with sensible navigation... fully scalable, all with painless content management after launch. I tested sites they developed on my iPhone, and they automatically adjust (responsive)... no need for an app version. I'm specifically focused on a brilliant new CMS bundle, AcademicsWeb,…See More
