Gerry McGovern's latest post, "Web professional: Are you ready to serve?
," in my opinion is his best yet. He just hit the nail right on the head. This is a point I've been trying to make on my campus for a decade.... and I've made many people not-so happy because I refuse to give-in to the bells & whistles just to serve them and not the customer. There is a way to balance the aesthetics, and throw in the occasional bells & whistles, while still serving the customer - but the customer has to be your first and foremost priority... not yourself, or the cranky Dean who wants something a certain way because it would make it easier for him.
