Trying to cultivate some buy-in on attending HighEdWeb this coming October. Can anyone share some high points, take-aways, ROI, or other insights on attendace at previous year's conference that would help me build a case to attend?
At heweb you will meet people from all over. The cool thing about higher ed is that you can adapt others ideas to fit your institution fairly easily. It's a GREAT resource for new information and standards plus it's a great place to have a discussion with others at institutions like your own.
It's also nice to be able to go back and say to your boss - we're doing really well in XXX areas... or to go back with some new ideas that might get people excited.
Look at the current schedule of sessions being presented and see if any of them speak to a particular issue/project of yours....maybe something you're working on now would benefit from the experience(s) of others who have already walked that path and may be able to shed some light or offer ideas for resolution...
Perhaps you have a project (or projects) that are being planned at your institution, and one of the sessions speaks directly to your planning process...
