Are there any Canadian universities out there who are using Google Analytics? I'm interested to know how you have overcome any privacy issues due to the fact that Analytics data is stored on US servers.
I avoid US based servers for personal information, and try to keep all PII on-campus or at least on Canadian servers. The requesting IP number in GA data could be personally identifying in some cases, but I'm not very concerned.
If Lakehead can continue to use the much more personally identifiable gmail service without censure from the Canadian authorities, then I will continue to consider the relatively anonymous data in GA as a non-issue.
Greetings,What are you all doing online with "old" magazine stories? Do you delete issues after so many years? 5 years? 10? I'm torn between keeping all on for historical purposes or keeping just a few years online to simplify the site (ala Gerry McGovern.) Curious as to what you see best practices being.ThanksSara KisseberthBluffton Universitywww.bluffton.eduSee More
