Our school has a quasi-active ex-students association. The group is loosely run by about half a dozen people and falls under the umbrella of our foundation. The only thing the group does is award a yearly "distinguished alum" award.
They are looking for ways to engage more former students--which would include some fundraising, naturally--and I was looking at some of the social networks created for alums at other schools. However! They are all at four-year...can't find one at a community college.
Something to consider is the fact that someone might come here and take one class and that's it. That could increase the number of "ex-students" exponentially. We have 10,000 enrolled this semester alone.
Anyone have any thoughts on alumni groups at community colleges? Or ways to develop a cohesive group?
