I hope I did this right. I created a group called Migrations.

Comment by Steve Covello on July 10, 2013 at 12:17pm

@Daniel @Hillary - Agreed. Hillary - please open the group for us to participate in. No sense depriving the community of our wisdom.

Comment by Hillary Meister on July 10, 2013 at 12:04pm

Daniel - that sounds like a good idea. Steve - my email is hmeister@gsu.edu. Feel free to share!

Hi Steve and Hillary -- I'm at Brescia University College in London Ontario Canada. perhaps we should post a topic on WordPress migrations in the main part of the site, and discuss our experiences there... I think that section is more followed than the 'Groups', so we might get more input.

@Hillary - I have had the pleasure of introducing Granite State College to the power of WP, and there are both good and bad experiences with it - all of which I would be glad to share directly if you want.

Hi Daniel - I would LOVE to hear about your trials/tips/opportunities. I haven't had the big meeting yet where I learn about the migration - the templates we'll use, etc. From what I understand (this is my third day on the job) we're moving from RedDot to WordPress. Part of the University's website is on WordPress already (www.gsu.edu) while the Colleges are in the process of moving over. Development is external to the Univ., though, so I don't know how much I'll get to develop pages, etc. What school are you with?

Hi Hillary -- We're in the process of migrating to WordPress as well, so I'll be happy to share trials/tips/opportunities with you as our projects unfold. Are you moving from another CMS, or from static HTML?

Hello. I just started my new job with Georgia State Univ. as Web coordinator for the College of Education. We'll be migrating to WordPress soon. I've used WordPress in a past job as well as building freelance sites, so I enjoy using it. I look forward to learning more about it as the weeks progress.

I developed a plugin for Wordpress that displays Moodle Courses for a specific user in a widget.  This is great for teachers who want a quick way to display all the courses they teach in Wordpress.

@Jay Collier - Bates. One of the best looking and unique college websites I've seen.
